Guesthouse Policies

We look forward to welcoming you to the Cumberland Guesthouse! To ensure a smooth and comfortable stay for all guests, please review our policies below.

Cancellation Policy

  • A 5% administration fee applies to all bookings.
  • Cancelled 8–14 days before arrival: 50% refund.
  • Cancelled 0–7 days before arrival: 0% refund.
  • No-shows or early departures: No refund.

We understand that plans can change, and we do our best to rebook cancelled nights. If we are able to rebook the suite, we’ll refund you the amount we were able to recoup.

If booked through a third-party platform (e.g. Airbnb or VRBO), their cancellation policies will apply.

Damage Deposit

A $150 damage deposit is required for each booking. It will be pre-authorized to your credit card account a few days before your arrival date.
This is fully refundable within 5–7 days of check-out, provided the suite is left in good condition and no policies were violated.

House Rules

  • Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • No smoking or vaping inside any suite or on the premises
  • No parties or events without prior approval
  • Please respect fellow guests and our residential neighborhood

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: After 3:00 PM
  • Check-out: By 11:00 AM
  • Self-check-in via keyless entry – instructions will be sent before your arrival

Pet Policy

We welcome one dog in our designated pet-friendly suite (Suite A: The Forest Suite):

  • One dog is permitted, and only in The Forest Suite
  • No undisclosed pets- all dogs must be approved prior to arrival
  • Pet fee: $40 plus tax applies per stay
  • Pet rules:
    • Keep dogs off furniture and out of bedrooms —if your dog is used to being on the couch or bed, you must use a blanket to fully cover the surface. Please bring your own, or contact us to see if we have extras available.
    • Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside
    • Pick up all pet waste immediately — waste bags can be provided
    • No excessive barking or noise that may disturb other guests
    • Do not leave your dog unattended in the suite, especially if prone to barking or chewing
    • Clean up any indoor accidents immediately and notify us
    • Pet owners are financially responsible for any damage or extra cleaning —including waste removal
